On the inside we cripple

On the outside we're quite smart 

Fickle futile feelings, we assume they'll just depart
Would turn ugly we undeniably guess that since the start

Quite comfortably carrying burden in our heart
Despite knowing it tears us apart
Pushing people away,expertised in that art

The money we want to earn
just the emotions we can't afford

Strong souls but cold at heart
Or just adults - Marked as matured?
